Isabelle Amyot, J.D.

Associate, Personal Injury Lawyer

Having discovered my passion for justice and standing up for peoples’ rights at a young age, I pursued academic studies in criminology and law at the University of Ottawa. I completed my articling at one of Ottawa’s major multi-service litigation firms where I gained experience in the personal injury division. After that, I joined MG Law as an associate lawyer to pursue a career as an advocate for anyone who has had the misfortune of becoming injured following a motor-vehicle or bicycle accident, a trip or slip and fall, an assault or sexual assault, or any other type of personal injury, including product liability injuries.

I believe everyone has a right to claim compensation for their injuries and I devote my time and effort to ensuring my clients are treated with respect, dignity, and most importantly, fairness. Canada’s justice system is broad and can be challenging to understand and navigate – that is why I am committed to supporting and accompanying my clients every step of the way.

At MG Law, we recognize that working in a collaborative team setting allows us to find the most creative ideas and solutions for our clients. I am a firm believer that every person is different and, as such, I welcome my clients with open-mindedness and compassion. It is my practice to truly get to know my clients so that I can have a better understanding of what they really need. My tenacity, passion for justice, and desire to help push me to strive in the legal field and continuously further my education to better assist my clients.

Born and raised in a French-speaking family in Ottawa, I pride myself on being fully bilingual and able to serve my clients in both French and English.

Important steps to take when injured

It’s important to remember that injuries can take some time to present themselves. If you’ve been in a bad accident, it’s important to take these steps regardless of how you feel, as it may take a few days or weeks for the full extent of your injuries to become apparent.

1.
Call the police and report your accident

Police reports are a valuable part of any court proceeding, so ensuring that the police have all the information you have available will reflect positively on your case.
