Aditya Sood

Accident Benefits Administrator

Graduating with honours from Algonquin College Ottawa’s Paralegal Program, I am an Accident Benefits Administrator at MG Law, focused on maximizing benefits for my clients. A foreign trained lawyer, I previously worked in accident benefits administration for another local personal injury law firm.

Holding a valid paralegal license and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, I manage accident benefits files for clients who are involved in motor vehicle accidents. Using diplomacy and my excellent knowledge of the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS), I regularly deal with claims representatives from various insurance companies.

Day to day, I support lawyers by evaluating claims and acting as a liaison between clients and insurance companies. Understanding that the accident benefits process can prove challenging for clients, I strive to ensure they are comfortable and fully informed throughout their entire legal journey. As part of this, I speak both Punjabi and Hindi. This way, South Asian clientele can feel at ease in the language most familiar to them.

Important steps to take when injured

It’s important to remember that injuries can take some time to present themselves. If you’ve been in a bad accident, it’s important to take these steps regardless of how you feel, as it may take a few days or weeks for the full extent of your injuries to become apparent.

Call the police and report your accident

Police reports are a valuable part of any court proceeding, so ensuring that the police have all the information you have available will reflect positively on your case.
